BACKGROUND: I have lost about 25 lbs. since starting Sonki Fitness. I am faster, stronger, and mentally tougher than I have been since college.
What is your current exercise routine? MWF – Sonki Fitness, T/Th – Weightlifting, Sunday – Riding the beach cruiser.
What is your motivation to stay in shape? My motivation to stay in shape is the way I feel when I am in shape. The confidence that comes along with knowing that I am maximizing my potential in every way. The ability to be a little less strict with my diet. Being fit makes everything in my life just a little bit easier and better.
What is your greatest challenge to staying in shape? Greatest challenge is consistency. Consistency is also the most important thing. You just have to pull yourself out of bed and do the work. The next biggest challenge is pushing through the pain. Once you are able to push through the pain, you will be able to get in shape so much faster. You definitely ‘get’ when you ‘give’.
What is your key to success? My key to success is just getting out of bed, drinking a huge cup of black coffee, and getting out there and working hard. It is a marathon, not a sprint. I think endurance is the key to everything that has to do with success and is a challenge everyday.
What do you like about Sonki Fitness Boot Camp and how has it affected your life? My favorite thing about Sonki Fitness is the ability to have a community of people that are going thru the same thing that you are. Everyone is up at the same time. Everyone is doing the same workout. The entire hour is motivation to work as hard as the others in the class. That is something that you will never get out of just going on a jog. That pushes me everyday, and that is all I need out of a workout to get results. I must compete to maximize my potential and that is my main reason for being part of this lifestyle.
What advice would you give to others about fitness? Fitness keeps you healthy. I look at it as a way to stay strong, stay fit, and maintain the one body you have been given. Maximizing potential in every way possible is the key to life.
