BACKGROUND: I grew up dancing and played many sports when I was younger, all the way until high school. I did ballet, jazz, tap dance, and Irish dancing for nearly 7 years. I then moved on to figure skating, tennis, volleyball, and basketball. When I moved to Los Angeles, I started doing yoga, kickboxing, and Grace Lazenby’s Rockin’ Model Workout at Equinox. I eventually moved on to strength training, both with bodyweight and heavyweights. Now, I’ve been doing Sonki fitness 3x a week and really enjoying it!
What is your current exercise routine? Sonki Fitness 3x per week
What is your motivation to stay in shape? Both physical and mental health. I tend to eat cleaner and take care of myself more when I have an established routine, and keep myself from becoming too isolated.
What is your greatest challenge to staying in shape? Consistency – it’s hard on those days when you really really don’t feel like it.
What is your key to success? Knowing that short-term difficulties lead to long term results, and gradually starting to see and feel the results keeps me going.
What do you like about Sonki Fitness Boot Camp and how has it affected your life? I love the pace & the community. I never feel like I’m overexerting myself to the point of exhaustion, but pushing myself enough to grow in a healthy way. The people in the class make it even better!
What advice would you give to others about fitness? Fitness is for everyone, and it’s a great way to show your body and mind that you care about them. It’s never too late to start and challenge yourself to be better every day.
Any other comments? I’ve genuinely enjoyed my time with Sonki fitness and am very grateful to have been a part of it. It’s been a blast building strength and endurance with a fun group of people who all share the same goal of improving their health. It definitely came at a time where I really needed it! Sadly, I won’t be able to continue my journey at Sonki Fitness as I am moving to Austin, but I’m hoping to bring the Sonki Fitness routine with me wherever I go!
